Amazing Pops
“Pops” is a weekly webseries exploring fatherhood as experienced by black men. The series tells three stories of African Americans from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds – all deeply engaged in the beautiful struggle of fatherhood.
In this episode, Christopher and Shelton are raising 12-yr-old son Jonathan in Snellville, Georgia. They encounter problems typical of raising a kid that age, as well as some anxiety about prejudice against gay couples. They achieved their dream of fatherhood via adoption, and have an “open adoption”. Jonathan has access to his birth mom.
