Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association speaks against Religious Accommodation Act

MississippiStateSign
Members of a powerful hospitality association – composed of lodging properties, casinos, suppliers, and over 1400 food service operators – have launched a new campaign that spreads a message of love and southern hospitality. The campaign is called, Everyone’s Welcome Here.

“In our industry, we welcome everyone, we want everyone to come in regardless of race, color, gender,” said business owner Preston Grace.

The group disagrees with the new Religious Accommodation Act recently signed into law by Governor Phil Bryant. The bill would allow businesses like his to deny service due their religious beliefs to people for example from the LGBT community with weddings and religious services’ requests.
