Ricky Martin strikes back at Miss Peru over anti-gay remarks

Ricky Martin blasted Miss Peru Cindy Mejia (pic) for saying that she will not let her children grow up to be homosexuals. Mejia suggested that gay adults are the products of childhood molestation or broken homes.

“What a shame! Such foolish comments. Complete ignorance,” Martin tweeted in response to her statement.

During the competition, Mejia said, “The day that God permits me to have children, (having gay children) wouldn’t happen because these things happen perhaps because a child grew up without a father or was molested or lived with his mother and sisters (and) became effeminate.”
