Students quit Colorado HS yearbook staff after advisor orders censorship of gay couple

Members of a Colorado Springs high school’s yearbook staff are staging a protest after claiming an advisor asked them to remove a photo of a lesbian couple. Some yearbook staff at Palmer High School have quit over the homophobic decision made by their faculty advisor. The students say they believe the decision was unethical, and four have left the staff. “She told me to in these exact words, you either cut the gay couple or I cut the page.” said former yearbook staff member “Coco” Tribulio. Tribulio and Anna Carmicheal say their yearbook advisor told them that a lesbian couple holding hands could not be on a page they were creating about high school relationships.
