Parents of transgender youth tell us about their lives

In the Life Media debuted a web-exclusive video which focuses on PFLAG’s support group for families of transgender children. Parents share their personal struggles to understand their child’s needs and find support for both themselves and their families. “Those early days were very difficult,” says Catherine, parent to a transgender child. “I was scared. I felt alone. I felt somehow responsible for having done this to my child.” To learn more about families with transgender children, watch IN THE LIFE’s April episode, “Becoming Me,” a sensitive look into the real-life experience of eight families whose children fall across the gender spectrum. “Becoming Me” will debut April 1, 2012.
