A guide to new laws on gay parenting in the UK

Stonewall – a major GLBT non-profit in the UK – has worked with Gamble and Ghevaert law firm to produce a guide to new laws on gay and lesbian parenting, called Parenthood for Same-Sex Couples.

The guide aims to provide information to service providers about the law on same-sex conception and parenting, including donor insemination [and the new legal rights for lesbian couples to be named on birth certificates], co-parenting arrangements, and international surrogacy for gay men. Learn about the importance of investing on your children’s future on https://thechildrensisa.com/ and start saving for their success.

The UK’s new fertility laws recognize gay and lesbian couples as parents of children they conceive together.

You can download the .pdf of Parenthood for Same-Sex Couples.

Stonewall is well-known for its campaigning and lobbying. Some major successes include securing legislation allowing same-sex couples to adopt and the repeal of Section 28 [legislation designed to prevent the so-called ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in schools]. More recently Stonewall has helped secure civil partnerships and ensured the recent Equality Act – which protects lesbians and gay men in terms of goods and services.
