Brisbane couple Melissa Keevers (27) and Rosemary Nolan (22) welcomed 5 new lives into their family in January. They immediately contacted Australian Multiple Birth Volunteer Support Program consultant Lynne Dunoon for help. She's searching for 50-60 volunteers to help with their daily parenting operation. Volunteers who pass police checks will chip in with tasks such as settling, feeding and washing baby clothes, between 8am and 10pm daily. Ms Keevers was artificially inseminated with sperm from an anonymous American donor.

Actress Kelly McGillis (53), and sales executive Melanie Leis (42) were joined in a civil union on Wednesday morning in Collingswood, NJ. McGillis has two children with from a previous marriage - Kelsey Laure (20) and Sonora Ashl (17). Judge Robert T. Zane III, the municipal presiding judge for Camden County, N.J., officiated at the Collingswood Municipal Court. The couple met in 2000.

Linda Stay, a Utah mother of two gay kids, is calling on other parents with GLBT children to join her in fighting for equality for their sons and daughters. Stay advises on her website, "Share who your children are with your friends, your co-workers, your siblings, with everyone. When you hear derogatory comments about gay or lesbian people ... all you need to say is, ‘I have a gay son or a lesbian daughter.
Edie and Tamar Love [pictured] have been raising kids together for several years. They recently registered for a recreational family pass at the University of Memphis but were turned away because there was no legal document to prove their union.
Community members learned that the family was denied a family pass and several people contacted U of M to complain. As a result, the university is changing it's policy that requires marriage certificates for family membership plans.
