Here's a complete list (so far) of U.S. mayors who support Freedom to Marry. The statement the group signed includes: "As mayors of great American cities, we proudly stand together in support of the freedom of same-sex couples to marry. We personally know many gay and lesbian people living in our cities who are in committed, loving relationships, who are active participants in the civic life of our communities, and who deserve to be able to marry the person with whom they share their life..."
Richard Pillard (pictured) - professor of psychology in the Boston University School of Medicine - has been doing research which suggests a strong biological basis for sexual orientation.
Pilliard said through his research and personal experiences, he believes there may be a genetic basis for sexual orientation and the origin is "prenatal, partially genetic just like heterosexuality."
Circle Surrogacy opened its new world headquarters at 200 High Street in Boston, a move that coincides with the formation of a new law firm, The Weltman Law Group. LLP, also to reside in the same location.
John Weltman, Circle's President, explained that these steps were designed to better serve the agency's growing family of surrogates, egg donors and parents.
There's a network of gay men in Boston who have children. Some are divorced, some separated, and some still married. Some are in committed relationships with other men - and some are single. And everyone has kids!
The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the First Parish Church in Waltham from 7-9 pm.
