In Chickasaw County there lived a woman named Belle. She was very beautiful and a little odd. She cared only for her books and always felt out of place.

Her father, Bobby Ray, was also a great reader. But while Belle read about adventure and carpentry, her father studied technical books. Bobby Ray was an inventor - a genious, according to Belle; a meth-head, according to folks in town.
