Stolen Idea

I have a blog at lifeisbetterthangood.blogspot.com. Yesterday, I found a new friend, Dena, at the Normanist Theory. (Read her. She’s in my list of blogs that I follow.) I’m borrowing her idea for this post. I was struck by her, “To my eight year-old self.” Storm is 8, so that is probably a good part of why I find this so intriguing.

An Unimaginable Loss

I am very sad to report to you that early this morning our Executive Director, Paula Brooks, lost her partner Debbie in a brave battle against breast cancer.

Who's The Grownup? An outspoken lesbian mom and her equally candid straight daughter share their thoughts in a dueling blog.

Joan Garry, former executive director of GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has always been an inspirational activist and hands-on mom. Lately she's been working on a blog with her 18-year old daughter, Sarah (also known as Scout). The website is called Who's The Grownup? - and its premise is engaging.


The Family Equality Council updates us on "Buddy G". The lucky little cartoon boy with two moms has a promising future

The producers of Buddy G provided a guest post on the Family Equality Council Blog, January 23rd.

The post helps us understand the producers' frame of mind while creating something totally original from scratch:

"How did we make Buddy G? We closed our eyes and ears to those who said we couldn't do it, and we threw our caution and money to the wind."


Meredith Corporation fires it's only lesbian writer from Parents.com. Company claims her blog wasn't popular enough

Parents.com is saying Harlyn Aizley, author of “Buying Dad” and editor of “Confessions of the Other Mother”, did not attract enough visits on her Parents.com blog - called "Are You My Mothers?" - to continue being an employee at Meredith Corporation. She's been fired.


Blogging about being a single gay dad

Over 300 people read his first blog entry at Proud Parenting, titled: Adventures in Being a Single Gay Parent.

His nickname is The3B's, and he's the father of two boys (Benjamin will be 6 in May and Bryce is 18 months old).
