Asheville, North Carolina's Citizen-Times.com spotlights a new book about being a gay parent. Brett Webb-Mitchell, an ordained Presbyterian minister, has written “On Being a Gay Parent: Making a Future Together”. The book deals with parenting issues and religion.

In his new book, University of Pittsburgh associate professor of law Anthony C. Infanti explains the law's impact on lesbian and gay lives. Each chapter opens with a story about actual experiences of lesbians and gay men - and then uses those experiences as a starting point for discussing the law.

Here's an odd memoir of growing up gay with a gay parent: Alison Bechdel's "Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic" (Mariner,$13.95).

The Seattle Times says it's a heavy, sometimes depressing book, but it gets a glowing review.

Time Magazine named "Fun Home" its 2006 book of the year, and it's been reissued in paperback.
