Proudly gay Rufus Wainwright (left) has announced the birth of his daughter this weekend via his official website. Leonard Cohen's daughter Lorca Cohen is the birth mother, while Wainwright's partner of five years Jorn Weisbrodt (right) - a German arts administrator - will also act as the child's father. Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen was born on February 2 in LA to proud parents Lorca Cohen, Rufus Wainwright and Deputy Dad Jorn Weisbrodt.
Actress Cynthia Nixon and her partner Christine Marinoni yesterday showed off their son for the first time.
Education activist Christine, 43, who has been in a relationship with Cynthia since 2004, gave birth to Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni in New York on Monday.
The couple had not announced they were expecting a child and have not revealed any details of the child’s biological father.
Cynthia and Christine met at an education rally in 2002 and became a couple two years later. They announced their engagement at a marriage equality rally in New York in 2009.

People reports: "Marinoni gave birth to the couple's son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, on Monday, Feb. 7, Nixon's rep confirms. 'Christine and baby are doing great,' her rep tells PEOPLE. Nixon, 44, and Marinoni, 43, began dating in 2004 and announced their engagement in 2009.
Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish are new dads!
John's publicist confirmed late Monday that the child, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, was born on Christmas Day via surrogate (7-pounds, 15-ounces). Zachary is 62-year-old John's first child with the 48-year-old Furnish. The couple married in 2005.

The Hindustan Times is reporting that an Israeli couple has left India with twins (a boy and a girl) who were conceived through surrogacy. The new dads worked with the Centre for Human Reproduction - in Mumbai - which matched them with an Indian woman to donate the eggs, and a separate surrogate.
