Openly gay teacher Seth Stambaugh teacher was removed from an Oregon Elementary School following a complaint by a parent. But 22 parents of students at the school wrote letters in support of Stambaugh, calling on the district to reinstate the student teacher, whom they said had "positive rapport" with his students. The incident is based on a conversation Stambaugh had with a student about his marital status in which he stated it would be illegal for him to marry because he would choose to marry a man. On Sept.
An anti-gay-rights group didn't collect enough valid signatures on a referendum to block Oregon's domestic-partnership law, but it convinced a judge to freeze the legislation which was to take effect January 1.
The law would have given some spousal rights to gay couples.
State elections officials said this fall that the signature effort fell 116 valid signatures short of the 55,179 needed to suspend the law.
The word gay is used by both genders to mean "stupid". Anything can be gay. A video game can be gay. A car can be gay. But only a boy can be a fag.
