Wanda Sykes has a new HBO comedy special "I'ma Be Me, " debuting Saturday at 9 p.m.
According to nola.com, Sykes devotes the middle portion of her stand-up routine to observations and commentary about current events - including gay marriage.
Sykes, 45, steers the concluding segment into more conventional standup territory, including the woes of aging, late-in-life parenthood [an out lesbian, Sykes and her wife have twin infants].
Over the weekend, Wanda Sykes [from CBS's New Adventures of Old Christine] came out of the closet as a gay, married woman.
This is the first time Sykes has publicly discussed her sexual orientation.
In this video, you'll see Wanda speaking from a very private place, that she's passionate about - the family she's created with her partner. Sykes mentioned that she got married and her wife was at the rally with her.
