If you were one of the couples affected by the gay marriage bans voted into law in the states of Florida, Arizona, or California, our sincerest condolences go out to you and your family in this time.
The Prop. 8 Protest in Long Beach on November 7th began and ended at Redondo and Broadway. There were three parts of the march that were scheduled out for picking up more protestors who were coming to meet up and join the march. The third and last leg was the pickup point at Broadway and Alamitos which was where many news vans were parked and waiting. Police had the streets blocked off and my contact on the inside said they were not scheduled to march past their, rather speakers were meant to give a message.
Californians Against 8 is organizing a protest at the capital building in Sacramento this Sunday, November 9th at 1:00pm. Please email californiansagainst8@gmail.com for more information and to get involved! We will not give up the hope of experiencing equal rights in our country!
In Solidarity,
Amy
