In addition, a surprising admission by a Utah lawmaker. She is carrying a child for a gay couple as a traditional surrogate.
"Rep. Christine Johnson will serve an additional role when the Utah Legislature convenes this month. The lesbian lawmaker announced she's a surrogate mother, carrying a baby for two gay men.
Right-wing political mastermind - Frank Schubert - has acknowledged his lesbian sister in press interviews.
Now Anne Marie Schubert, currently a deputy district attorney for Sacramento, announced she's running to be a Sacramento County Superior Court judge.
Schubert's campaign website says she is a law and order and victim's rights judicial candidate with several endorsements from the county’s local law enforcement organizations.
The decision on whether to overturn Proposition 8 is due to be handed down from the California Supreme Court by June 3rd.
Thursday March 5th, 2009 is yet another day that will be etched in the minds and hearts of the 18,000 same sex couples who were married in California last year between June 16th and the passing of Proposition 8 on November 4th.
Adrienne [pictured] is a student at The Urban School of San Francisco, and is a reporter for The Urban Legend. In the online PBS NewsHour Extra: Student Voice, Adrienne writes that same-sex couples like her parents should be allowed to get married.
My parents have been married twice and may have to get married a third time. I don't come from a broken family, my parents love each other and always have. The only problem is, they're lesbians.
Have you heard that Ken Starr - and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund - filed legal briefs defending the constitutionality of Prop 8 and attempting to forcibly divorce 18,000 same-sex couples that were married in California last year? The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in this case on March 5, 2009, with a decision expected within the next 90 days.
