We’ll be in Cape Cod July 26 thru August 2 celebrating new and old friendships with families like yours. Each summer, Provincetown is transformed into a huge playground for kids with GLBT parents. And Family Equality Council is once again hosting a large part of this massive event. COLAGE will again offer its workshops and activities too. Similar to the model for 2007, COLAGE will sponsor a program for youth in 3rd grade and older. Register for COLAGE activities online now. There’s a special early bird rate through May 15th.
Activities offered by FEC will be different from last year. The parade is back on the schedule – and there’s more activities for young kids. FEC will be providing children’s activities (for ages 3-8) for the first time in Family Week history. On it’s website, FEC says, “children’s programming will include activities such as: superhero cape making and games, freeze dancing to family themed music, LGBTQ-family friendly children’s books, inclusive family coloring pages, finger painting, family paper dolls and more. Registration is required and each age group is capped at 30 children per day. To ensure that the activities run smoothly and that as many children are included as possible, FEC asks that you please choose only 2 out of the 5 days offered to register your child for programming.”
Please be aware that there’s an activities fee – of $150 – this year. The fee will give your family access to the activities listed below:
- Welcome Picnic
- Family Parade
- Little Gatherings for Little Ones
- Children’s programming
- Access to plenaries & breakout sessions
