I read the article concerning my adoption of my daughter. I inseminated my partner. The article states my ex-partner was artifically inseminated, this is not true and the court record reflects this. I paid 400.00 dollars a month to my ex after she ended our relationship. I paid this amount without a court order and during this time she moved her new girlfriend in the home we built for our family. I now pay 789.00 a month to her for court ordered child support and medical insurance for our daughter. I have court ordered standard visitation with my daughter. My ex has since moved our daughter to Minnesota. My standard visitation did not require her to assist with travel expenses so I must pay for all travel to see my daughter.
If you are considering having a child with your partner, please consult an attorney before you start the process.

second parent adoption process
My name is Candacee. My partner, Stephani, and I have found a private donor and have decided to do an in- home insemination. I'm am just wondering, from a legal standpoint how I can really take "ownership" of this baby once concieved? We have been to the court house in our city and requested any paperwork that they have on second parent adoption, even explaining the situation in full to them and they informed us that there was NOTHING they could really do. The clerk actually informed us that the best we could do, legally, is to type up the agreement between the donor and I, as far as the release of all rights and responsibility to the child to me (the second parent) written in our words and having that notorized. Is that really all there is? I want full rights to my child, what steps should we be taking? Someone please help.
