Adoption of step parent

I really need advice on what to do in my current situation, I have my sons father who is willing to give up his rights to my child, and my partner who wants to adopt but I am not sure where to go from here. We want to fill out whatever papers neccesary but do not want to hire a lawyer to do so. any advice is greatly appreciated.

You need some real legal advice

Saw you post. I am actually a former family law attorney and now practice corporate law. You really need some legal assistance with this one it is not one that you should do yourself. While I can not answer what is necessary as I am not sure what jurisdiction you are in. I am happy to try to find you a qualified attorney in your area that is sensitive to your needs. Let me know if I can assist, but do not go it alone.

same situation

I am in the same situation you are in. I am pretty sure the real father is willing to give up the rights to my son. I just got married and am needing to do the same thing. My son sees my husband as his father and only knows him. I am just not sure on how to go about it and what is the cheapest way I go about it. We don't have a lot of money, but we want my son to have the benefits of my husband being his real father on paper. If anyone has any good advice, my e mail is orangenicky0314@yahoo.com
Thanks.
Hang in there......
