My husband and I have been training for the past year to be certified foster parents in Texas. We are done with all of that work/training. We built a new house and furnushed two rooms for two great kids. We hope to get a pair of brothers so we can round out our family.
Tomorrow is our first appointment to discuss children specifically. We have discussed types and disabilities, but never have discussed specific kids. We are excited and nervous to do this part of the process. It's like dating or meeting in-laws for the first time. We want older, school aged children, so the kids know they want to be adopted, but just have not found parents yet. Hopefully some kids say, "hey those guys look like my dads."
