Does anyone know how much it cost to do second parent adoption. And what the process is?

Second Parent Adoption

The cost depends on where you live and a number of other factors.

In general you will have to pay for: 1) attorney, 2) filing fees, and 3) home study.

Also, keep in mind that the cost is probably a tax deduction depending on your income and again . . . a number of other factors.

You're probably looking at $500 to $5,000; unless you have to move to (or get a temporary residence) in another state that allows second parent adoption. Those families often spend well over $5,000 for a parent to adopt his/her own child.
