Making a childs eyes sparkle!

Good Morning
I was talking to my adoption worker yesterday about the progress of my adoption, and during the chat i also asked about the children who are either in foster care or a facility
(in san diego its the polinsky center). And did they get donations for these kids who in all reality may not recieve anything for christmas. She said that her facilty(san diego county adoptions) welcomes donations. These are kids who through no fault of their own are without a permanent loving home. My mom every year buys things durning the year when there on sale(dolls stuffed animals, books ect) and trys to find needy charties during the holiday season. I bake....ALOT.
i co-owned a bakery for 6 years a while back and i love to bake for others. I did a bakery platter for senior meals on wheels a couple of years ago that i was so excited about. Anyway im going to my moms today and collect all of the presents she has gotten(she even knitted baby blankets for the dolls) and im taking them down to the adoption facility. Next week im going to bake some huge platters for all those adoption workers who advocate tirelessly for these great kids, and work hard to help all of us to becaome new adoptive parents. I know they dont make alot of money, that the joy they get from their job, and finding these kids forever homes you cant put a price on. So its my way of saying i appreciate all you do. So listen if all of us in our own way did something(anything) to help theses folks and these great kids, what a great gift that would be. So spread the word, ponder what you can do in your own way to make a difference for these kids during the holiday. Thanks and happy holidays to all of you and may your dreams of a new or expanded family come true in 2009.Take care rick
