Where do you see the price of surrogacy going?
We are prospective parents via surrogacy and we have been greatly surprised by the total cost of having a child/children via surrogacy.
We have been even more shocked to learn (through a social group for gay dads) that parents who've used surrogacy even as recently as 5 years ago report that their total cost was almost half of what we're expecting our total to be now!
With advancement in medical technology, the opening or more agencies and more women willing to become egg donors and surrogates, wouldn't you think that the price of surrogacy should decrease over time due to just basic economic principles? However, it seems that we may be heading the other direction --> towards a price increase!
With international adoption becoming harder, and perhaps a continuing increase in costs for parenting via surrogacy, are we gay men going to be priced out of parenting?
