ROSIE LIVE! November 26th on NBC

Rosie O'Donnell, who hosts a live variety special, "Rosie Live," next week for NBC, feels the economic and political climate is perfect for the revival of the variety show.

"The economy has made it so that people are staying at home more, so we're going to give people an hour to forget about their troubles," O'Donnell told reporters in a conference call Wednesday.

A hour of fun, laughter, singing and dancing. No politics, no arguing, no talking about controversial things. As in the 1960s and '70s, when shows like "The Carol Burnett Show" and "The Sonny and Cher Show" were popular, America is ready to laugh again, she said.

"Rosie Live," will be broadcast from New York's Little Shubert Theatre, with Jane Krakowski and Kathy Griffin. There'll also be an opening number by O'Donnell and Liza Minnelli.
