Sperm Banks

Insemination

As we began this journey we knew we needed to determine whether or not we wanted to know our sperm donor. After thinking about all of our male friends and considering all of our options we have decided to go through a sperm bank to become pregnant. Now we are sort of overwhelmed with the lists and lists of potential sperm donors and many websites. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know which sperm banks are better/more reputable? Help! Where do we start!
Later this month we will have our reproduction counseling appointment with our doctor. Updates to follow...

Xytex

We have used Xytex for both our daughters. They are reasonably priced, very accomidating and have a decent selection of donors but not too many so it is overwhelming. I would check prices, if they have donors that fit what you are looking for and decide if you want donor release/pictures etc. It can be a tough process but we didn't find it too hard. We have a very specific donor type (no allergies, no bad family medical history, blond/red hair, blue eyes and over 6 ft tall). There were only a few to choose from so it was easy! Good luck!!

Hello. We are using Xytex as well. We paid for the adult photos which we found somewhat important since we were seeing cute baby photos everywhere. Xytex charges a storage fee on a monthly basis, as most do, so be prepared for that. They are very professional and have made all mailing deadlines. We are on try #4 right now.

...we will look into Xytex. It has been a little overwhelming already. Ha! We have started to talk about identity release, physical characteristics, etc. Once we have those nailed down and have talked to our doctor then we will get to start looking at profiles. Thanks again for the help! It is really comforting to be able to talk to people who have already gone through/are going through this process. Please let us know if you have any more advice :]

This is my first visit to the site. I do wish you both all the best as you began this journey.I have a happy 25 years parthernership and a 24 y.o.daughther. Unfortunatelly we are not allowed to marry in Brazil...

We went through Cryogenics and got life time pix for $100. Its totally worth it because we were able to pick someone who looks like us. Its a great site and we have had and easy time getting the sperm to our doctors office on time- which is very important!
