well. It's been forever since I've posted... things around here are different yet the same...
We put baby-making on hold... Muchly because of what we are now completely convinced was a miscarriage for M. She decided to not try again... then maybe... and it's still a maybe but I'm first... which is awesome because I want to carry so badly.
So, why the delay? Well, I can't be pregnant until I have all my teeth pulled. I have 16 teeth in my mouth which are beyond repair. Considering the fact that there are currently only 22 teeth in my mouth, well, "that ain't good". There are many risks associated with the oral issues I have, including:
heart disease
Increase the risk of stroke
*preterm birth
*low birthweight
*birth defects
*miscarriage
*the bacteria which causes tooth decay will travel down from the mother's mouth, into the breast milk and contribute to early tooth decay in breastfed babies -which ours will absolutely be. (This isn't a big deal in healthy moms but is out of control in situations like mine, thus promoting the issues "inheiritance" in kiddos)
diabetes
respiratory diseases
osteoporosis
thyroid problems
weight gain/loss
lethargy
sinus pain
weakened immune system
pnemonia
and much much more
not to mention, it sucks to eat healthy food when much of it's cruchy and that just HURTS!!!
So, I will have surgery one week from today, Thursday, Oct 8, 2008. I was supposed to have it on sept 11, but they f'd up MAJORLY and erased my appointment and gave it to someone else (which was confirmed by the sup who -magically- scheduled me out beyond "what their computer is capale of" by three weeks. :eyeroll). I'm going to get my surgery, which will require some pretty heavy duty pain killers -not pg friendly- and four-six months of no teeth in my mouth while I heal, then I get dentures, and can get pg.
