Updates and Latching

My doctor referred me to a fertility clinic to perform the IUI. Not my first choice, but we'll go check it out.

We are having a garage sale of everything we do not use next weekend, so we hauled it all out to the garage to get ready. Most of it was being stored in our "extra" room, which is the future nursery (hopefully). Shannon sparked up when I asked her to pick out some colors to paint that room, trying to find a balance between being able to go with a boy or girl baby (I don't want to know until I deliver) and colors we can live with if we do not conceive. Shannon is quite feminine, so I think she is having fun looking at all the nursery ideas and figuring out the decorating. She plans, I do the work. It works for us- my creative ability is pretty low, but I can fix or make just about anything. I am trying not to put the cart before the horse, but it doesn't make any sense to paint the room now and then again when we conceive, hopefully in just a few months. Shannon is so nervous about us actually conceiving a healthy baby, she says that she is not even imagining it until the end of a normal trimester, so this is the most involved she has been so far. She's a very internal person, though, so it's hard for me to tell what's really going on in that head of hers. She's the worrier of the two of us, which is good, because I tend to go full force ahead, damn the consequences!

Yesterday I was googling who knows what about babys (recent obsession...lol) and somehow landed on YouTube videos about breastfeeding. I have always planned on breastfeeding, but did not realize until that moment how involved it is. All the different cradles, good latch, bad latch, whether or not to use formula, breast squirting milk at the camera, doctors shoving the baby onto the breast of a wide-eyed woman...it was all a little much. Reminded me of how much we have to learn. Since we are still a few months away from even TTC and then 9 months or more from that, I wasn't itching to buy a bunch of books yet, but I think I may need to start studying! :)

I can't wait until we can

I can't wait until we can try again! Your right though, it's all you can think about! Good Luck :)
