Last night I received a very disturbing and harassing phone call from a member of Surrogate mother.com

This person called me on the phone late at night claiming she wants to be a surrogate for my agency and that her “recipients are clients” of mine. Of course, I have never heard of her so-called recipients, and tell her this it’s 11 PM. I very cordially answer her questions, which become repetitive. She asked if she could be a surrogate at my agency, and I explained to her that I only take surrogates who reside in California because of the very favorable laws here involving surrogacy. She asked again tell why she can’t be a surrogate for my agency, and then she begins to question the legitimacy of my business.

Over and over again she keeps asking for my “business address” which I refuse to provide. I later learned that within 20 seconds of answering the phone, my husband was also asked to give our address. She then goes on to say she’s audio taping the conversation, threatens to call the FBI and Better Business Bureau, and thereafter begins a rambling tyrade consisting of verbally abusing me. She shouted profanity directed at me and my agency using the most foul language imaginable. She also claimed that she was putting an audio recording of the conversation we were having on Youtube. Then, she reads from my personal Facebook page – which is NOT set with any privacy settings intentionally -- which all can read because I have nothing to hide. Even my current clients are my friends.

Of course, I told her, I’m not giving you my address, and feel free to call whoever you wish. I know on my website it says you may contact me 24 hours a day. Yes, for sure you as a client can reach me 24 hrs a day. That’s what my clients are paying for – the ability to contact me anytime you need to talk. Just like this person did who called me at 11pm under the false pretenses of wanting to be a surrogate, when in fact her intentions were to verbally abuse, swear and harass me.

Thank god, she did not block her phone number or name, I know her identity. Of course, if this harassment continues, I will take any and all legal action necessary to protect my business, myself and my family.

My clients pay for 24 hrs access to me, Yes if you call me you will talk to me, I am nice enough to post my home office number on the website. My clients have my personal cell phone and my calls are forward when I leave the office and go to my registered business address, which is only known to my clients. My business address is clearly printed in all of my contracts.

My address is private intentionally, including on my address for my domain. I pay for it be private. I know the people on the phone who sold me the service were not kidding. It’s worth every penny.

Please feel free to call me for a business reason, and continue to e-mail me your questions like many of you do. But please, do not call to harass me.

I urge recipient parents to screen all of your potential surrogates VERY carefully.
