Parent "rights" and the wisdom of Solomon

The heartbreaking custody dispute between parents highlighted in this case: (http://abcnews.go.com/US/lisa-miller-fails-hand-daughter-isabella-lesbia...) really serves to remind us that the law is not a good guideline for ethics.

The law will say differently but the truth is, no one has a "right" to a child, rather we all have a responsibility to do right by a child.

This is a sad, sad case. There are no winners and the toll that all of this takes on that innocent child is just so overwhelmingly heartbreaking.

As Dr. Samuel Johnson once said: "How small of all that human hearts endure, That part which laws or kings can cause or cure!"

We would ALL do well to remember the wisdom of Solomon:

Note to Lisa Miller

Please see my previous post - "Christmas - Jesus was the first..." (http://www.proudparenting.com/node/14897)

I understand that you have religious conflicts about all of this. But as I noted in my previous post, Jesus had 2 fathers. Why can't Isabella have 2 mothers? Find a way to work together for the best interests of that sweet baby of yours. The more people to love and care for a child, the better.
