I think this is very sad.

I think this is very sad. Intended Parents should not have to travel to another state to become parents. It should be a right to do it in your home state/town, not a privilidge.

Horrible

This is a horrible turn of events. You should not have travel outside of your home state to establish your family. This is really sad and angering.

"I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood. That the speaking profits me, beyond any other effect." - Audre Lorde

Support from Black perishoners

I attend an Episcopal church that is about 50%Black and 50%White. Our Priest and Assistant Priest are gay and lesbian respectively and neither is single. Our assistant Priest and her partner have children. There are plenty of GLBT singles, couples and families in the congregation. I'm white and gay and the many of the black members of my congregation have been a wealth of information and support in my personal struggles with being an outcast and second class citizen, as well as a wealth of information on how to stand up for our civil rights. It's been a blessing to be amongst people who "get it" and it feels good to be able to support others who've been marginalized too. I think we have a whole lot to offer each other.

Washington DC radio station WTOP interviewed Baltimore Sun reporter Rona Marech on the air regarding her story about gay couples adopting in Maryland.
