no last name

Funny how she can go on TV and act like such a judgemnetal person, but never have her last name released. Oh, poor baby. Is she afraid the big bad gays will find her and convert her? Maybe she better put in another call to god about this and see what the answer is. Then again, maybe she did and the answer was, "don't release your last name. Stay in the cult."

30 Days

I too am very upset that FOX Networks would not take the part out of the show, or at the very least get a statement from our side. Also I was somewhat scared that again, the show seems to lean on the woman's side and did not present an equal balance to the issue. I worry that it may put us back a few years after all the struggle we have made to move forward for equal rights for the homosexual community. Joyce Kipp, President PFLAG Bel Air/Susquehanna, Harford County, Maryland.

Mormon and Ashamed

This was the most disappointing episode yet. I am an active member of the LDS church ( the same church that Kati belongs to) and am completely ashamed of Kati and her ignorant self-righteousness. I would like to believe that the vast majority of members of the LDS Church consider themselves to be Christians, but I see nothing Christian about Kati's attitude and behavior. To cling so closely to one's principles and "moral fiber" and to ignore the experiences and struggles of real, ordinary people who are trying to build a nurturing and supportive family is in complete opposition to the compassion that all Christians should seek to cultivate in their relationships with others. Let us remember that nowhere in the Bible, or any other source that “Christians” like Katie mention to support their disdain of homosexuality, does it say that one must, in order to be a true Christian, be intolerant of homosexuals or seek to take away their rights. To claim that one’'s “moral convictions” gives one the right to seek to limit the rights of other individuals--who want nothing more than to raise happy, healthy children--demonstrates an absence of Christ-like love and understanding and an abundance of the smugness and narcissism that unfortunately characterizes many who consider themselves “Christian.”

A good thing

One down and how many more to follow till the old stereotypes are dismantled. This is a good thing for our society must see that we are just like them. The GSA offers teens the ability to be honest with who they are and breaking ground into the prejudices they face in the schools.

Let's live full and honestly as members of the US and break down lies such as we are defined by who we sleep with and all we care about is sex and and pleasure. Christianity is so much broader and has so much life in it and Mr. Walkers way of thinking is deadly.

It's not the mind but the heart

I do understand the hurt, pain, confusion and anger that many feel and justly so. We must all choose to do what we can to stop violence as a vehicle to work out one's anger. And yet reality is that there will always be someone who gets picked on bullied for whatever reason. This is a part of broken human nature and will continue to go on while man is around.

But in saying that I know that truly the only way for change is not through the head but through the heart. And in this it would be great if in schools young men and women were able to speak out what they have felt or feeling growing up being LBBTQ. True stories of peoples lives fleshed out in the midst of others brings feeling and allows compassion to well up and that is where change can really take an affect.

HATE CRIME...Homophobia from Church & State must stop!

This is another shot that has been heard around the world!

It is NOW time for our western civilised societies & communites, religious institutions & political institutions to realise 'homophobia' is simply not acceptable...it leads to the death of even children.

It is NOW time for our educators to grasp the nettle of 'sexuality'...and that young people, teenagers ARE aware of themselves, and some will express themselves couragously as did young Lawrence, its time...

...and we should remenber there is another family too, also struggling with the loss of their son, the 14yr old child who pulled the trigger. There too is grief.

are you kidding

whether or not the kid was shot because he was gay (which its pretty aparent thats why he was shot) no 13 yr old SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AND BE AFRAID THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE KILLED WHILE THEY ARE LEARNING.

Society is so messed up, no one should have to be be afraid of who they are. You have to wonder what kind of famalies these kids are coming from who go on these rampages or that need to go to the extent of killing someone else b/c they are diff just to make themselves feel better.

It's very apparent why this

It's very apparent why this boy was shot. Maybe you should wake up "WTF". Why would a student that taunted a gay student for being gay shoot him purposely? Because he got better grades???
