the IUI

Our first on was on 5/12.....it was so cool, we were able to look under the microscope and see the little swimmers! Doctor said full field, there was a lot of them. Hopefully we timed this right and it works. They said we have about a 20% chance each try and that they recommed that we try this IUI for 3 months if it don't work out. She is due to get her period on the 26th so Back to the WAITING game again!!

Turkey Baster Method DOES work

I am also in a lesbian relationship and myself and my wife about 3 weeks ago went about using the turkey baster method and yesterday I found out that I am pregnant. It works just make sure that the person you use as a donor has a clean bill of health with no serious infections.

Charting. . .

I've been charting for only one cycle this go around. . and my chart also looks like a view of the mountains. . .crazy! My temperature is so low in the morning that it sometimes doesn't hit the chart. . .as in 95.7 and what not. . .weird. . .I was just telling my "pregnancy buddy" today that I'm soooo tired of peeing on a stick with only one faint line and one dark line showing up. . .but I know that I have a rather long cycle so it's all about patience. . .

Have you tried the OPK's? It helps past the time and helps when the thermometer somehow falls between the bed and the nightstand!

I'm all about support! So, anytime!

And also. . .

The state of Tennessee will allow two mothers or two fathers to be on the birth certificate. . .when I had a partner our plan was to have a scheduled C-section or induction in TN because we live in AL. . .but now that I have no partner. . I don't have to do that extra traveling. . .Good Luck!

For anyone else that may be reading this and have the same question. . .the state of TN will allow both mothers to be on the birth certificate as well. . .I'm in AL and when I had a partner the plan was to go to TN for labor and delivery so both our names would be on the certificate. . .

thank you!!! unfortunately

thank you!!! unfortunately I'm on the indigent care program our state offers becuase I don't have pricate health insurance... and they don't do fertility "stuff" as far as i can tell. I have only been chart for about 2.5 months and it seams like every time I get ready to ovulate, I end up fallng asleep between the alarm and the thermometer getting to my mouth, I have just known that I ovulated in prior months because my chart showed a clear bi-phasic pattern (strictly before 97.2 before then strictly above 97.2 after) This month, no second phase and my chart looks like the view of the mountains I enjoy every day.
I know it's a normal thing, I'm just being a paranoid freak.
Thank you for the support!

Wow. . .

First of all. . .deep breaths! An anovulatory month is a normal thing. . .sometimes one ovary doesn't feel up to popping out an egg and hence you skip a month of ovulation. . .two things you can do. . .(and probably more, but these are the recommendations I get). . .have the doctor complete an ultrasound of your ovaries. . .make sure there aren't any cysts or other things getting in the way of that egg getting out. . .second. . .plan around the fact that you may skip every other month as far as ovulation goes. . .meaning. . .if your left ovary just isn't doing the job the right one will every other month so plan your insemination around that "other month". . .

Also. . how long have you been charting?? If it's been 3 to 5 months. . and you have ovualated every other month. . I would do the ultrasound thing first. . .

Keep on charting! Best of Wishes and Babydust!!

We have done IUI for both our daughters, only once a month and while it took only one time for our first, it took 7 for our 2nd. It is a long and tiring process, but SO worth every minute of heartache and $ spent in the end!!!

2 moms on birth certificate

Our first daughter was born in MA where we are legally married and we are both on her birth certificate. One as mother and one as second parent. With our newest daughter, she was born in ME where we are "roomates" so right now only the biological mom is on the birth certificate and the father space in blank. But we are in the process of a 2nd parent adoption (which have been legal here for less than a year) and then we will both be on the birth certificate!
