If Ted Stevens is re-elected as Senator from Alaska, and then has to resign because he's a convicted felon, the vacant Senate post is filled by appointment by the Governor. And there is nothing to prevent her from appointing the most prominent / best-known Alaskan to the post: Herself!

Palin epitomizes the right-wing Rethuglican fundagelical tenet that "Ignorance Is A Virtue." She could spend the next four years as a US Senator, getting ready for 2012.
