Adventures in Being a Single Gay Parent-

There are only two things I ever wanted to be in this life, a husband and a father. Now, imagine watching men run for the next county, when you tell them. To shorten a very long story, I decided to become a father as becoming a husband was proving much more difficult. I was beginning to think I had a better chance at pregnancy. So after a period of interviews and navigation through the complex legal and emotional process I got a call on the day before Thanksgiving 2004, telling me that there was a little boy who was two years old.

Babies BIrth Certificate

My partner and I are starting the process of haveing our first child. We are doing a home insemination with a unknown donor sperm from a bank. She is going to carry the first baby and we are concerned about my name being on the birth certificate. We live in central FL. We understand that FL will not allow us to do a second parent adoption, so what are some other options? We are willing to have the baby in a different state or do whatever we have to, to insure we both are on the birth certificate. PLEASE HELP!!!

WAY OUT PARENTING: SARAH PALIN AND KATIE COURIC--THE GAY INTERVIEW

Sarah Palin mangled foreign policy and demonstrated what she doesn’t know about the economy. What would she have to say on the issue of gay rights? Here’s the interview she might have given...

Katie Couric: Governor Palin, thanks for agreeing to speak to me today about gay issues. Many gay people consider the last 8 years of the Bush administration to have been particularly unfriendly to gay people. Would a McCain-Palin administration be any different?

Updated: Utah's 'Common Ground Initiative'

I've gotten a lot of negative comments about my post due to the information that I included about my experiences living in the state of Utah. The point of the post was primarily to discuss the "Common Ground Initiative," not to be a "bigot" or "burn bridges." Thus, I have removed any content that is not directly related to the initiative. Thank you for your comments and feedback.

Parenting From A Distance

in

I'm a 33-year-old, single gay male. I have three children. I have two boys with my ex-wife and she has a daughter from a previous relationship. I currently live in the same town as they do, but I am considering moving. The reason I would be moving is because I have met an incredible man that I love and adore. It's not a mere infatuation as most people might think. He and I have met face-to-face and spent quite a bit of time together despite our distance. The relationship has been going on since late November. I haven't told my ex-wife about this and I was wondering how I should approach her.

Made the decision to have a child ... where to start?

So, here I sit .... sometimes hard to believe that I've gotten this far.

We've been together for six long years, with many more to come. A long life actually. I couldn't have asked for a better partner than the one I'm blessed to have. Treats me good, takes great care of us (our dogs included), lots of love, and all the many mores.
