Where do you see the price of surrogacy going?

We are prospective parents via surrogacy and we have been greatly surprised by the total cost of having a child/children via surrogacy.

We have been even more shocked to learn (through a social group for gay dads) that parents who've used surrogacy even as recently as 5 years ago report that their total cost was almost half of what we're expecting our total to be now!

Has anyone used or know of people who have used "The Fertility Institutes" for surrogacy? They're based in Los Angeles, but I guess also have locations in several other areas.
