First of all Happy New Years everyone! I hope that 2009 brings you added joy if your allready a parent or Brand New Joy if your becoming a new parent this year. I myself finished all the required classes in december. Now all that is needed is the finished report from my worker, and i dive into the adoption pool and ............WAIT!!!!!!!!
I know that wait is worth it so i will TRY and be patient.The topic of the blog today is goals,preperation,and Can you REALLY be Prepared. So i begin this exciting new years with a list of all the fantastic things im going to accomplish!

I was talking to my adoption worker yesterday about the progress of my adoption, and during the chat i also asked about the children who are either in foster care or a facility

Well its a beatiful new Tuesday morning here in San Diego! I made a powerful decision in the last week or so. I decided that im going to begin to ACT as if im allready a parent. How do you do that you ask?well let me explain. I dont know if anyone has read the book or seen the movie "The Secret", but i have, and what i took away from it is this; if you think that your NEVER going to be able to adopt...then you wont. If however you have no doubt that YOU WILL ...then you WILL!

im still trying to navigate this site. i responded back to the great people who took the time to write, but i think i did it wrong(im so not pc savy). anyway to those of you who wrote me back thanks so much for your info and support.
im excited today because i got my foster care lic. in the mail on saturday. my adoption worker is finishing up my report

well im excited, and scared,all at the same time. Im adopting at age 43. im single,gay,male,sane,stable,employed,and looking forward to building a family. there arent many sites offering advice or leads that fit my unique definiton. But i search anyway. I live in san diego county. I am going through San diego county adoptions. I must say they have been great so far. Non judgemental,welcoming, and after two final class days in december and my worker finishes her report i will be in the "adoption pool".
