Blogs?

Does anyone know of any good blogs for waiting families?

I haven't posted in a while, but things are still the same... still waiting. The wait starts to make me think that there is something wrong with us and that no one that has seen our profile likes us for some reason or another. I know it's not personal, but that is just the way my mind works. Not sure if we should look at other avenues to start our family...?

Everyone says that when the right situation comes along, no matter how long it takes, it will all work out. It is easier said than done.

That is all for now.

1 year mark

Well on Oct. 1st, it will mark our 1 year since we embarked on our adoption journey. We received notification from the agency that it is time to renew (keyword for dish out more money) some of our clearances. We got re-fingerprinted, as if those ever change and began filling out the paperwork and writing the checks. I keep hoping that we only need to renew this one time before we adopt.

Situations

So things have been picking up in terms of having our profile shown. We have also been presented with "situations" by the adoption agency. Situations are when the profile key we filled out (what we are looking for in a birth family) doesn't match exactly what we are looking for, for some reason or another. But nothing has come to fruition. Holding tight for now. Still hoping to hear from some other gay couples that have adopted. I would love to hear your stories.

Thank you!

Waiting

Wow, I never knew how long 8 months felt until now. The 11 years my husband and I have been together have flown by like the blink of an eye. It has been 8 months since we have been officially accepted to be adoptive parents and have been waiting for a match. We knew going in that the process would take at least 18-24 months but in our minds we were hoping that it probably wouldn't take that long.
