Archie Comics welcomes a blue-eyed blond gay

Kevin Keller [pictured] is his name, and he's Archie Comics' first openly gay character. Kevin makes his debut in comic book shops September 1, with a coming out story written and illustrated by Dan Parent. To the kids at Riverdale High, Kevin’s sexual orientation is a nonissue. Their reaction is very nonchalant.

The story titled “Isn’t It Bromantic?,” finds the Veronica chasing after Kevin, who seems immune to her charms. She doesn’t know Kevin is gay, though others do.


Jennifer Aniston's new film chooses single motherhood via IVF

Jennifer Aniston is promoting her new film The Switch - about a single woman who chooses to conceive via IVF. Recently she said, “Women are realizing more and more that you don’t have to settle, they don’t have to fiddle with a man to have that child. Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth.


Author Anne Rice quits Christianity over 'anti-gay, anti-life' positions

Anne Rice announced that she's quitting Christianity as a matter of conscience. Wrote the author: "For those who care, and I understand if you don't, I quit being a Christian. I'm out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian.

Is 'Toy Story 3' homophobic and sexist?

Ellen Page confirmed to star in 'Freeheld'

The story of a lesbian couple struggling with local officials for domestic partnership is being made into a feature film. Cynthia Wade, the director of the award-winning short documentary "Freeheld", is making a full-length feature of the doc with "Juno" star, Ellen Page. Freeheld won the Oscar for best short documentary in 2008.
