Memories of Anne Heche's relationship with Ellen, are making Rosie's friends ask her to slow down with new girlfriend Michelle Rounds. According to Perez Hilton, "Friends state that Rounds may be only dipping a toe in the lesbian pool. Rounds has dated men before and friends are worried once the sizzle of dating a celebrity wears off, Rounds will bolt. Rounds didn't come out to her parents until AFTER her shacking up with Rosie.

TLC's beauty pageant series "Toddlers and Tiaras" will feature its first Pageant Prince as Brock Ritter joins the show.

The series is often criticized for exhibiting bad parenting, but TV Guide says this episode "is garnering the opposite response."


Gay families in Disney movies only a matter of time, says Lion King animator

Disney insider Andreas Deja, a veteran animator who happens to be gay, said Disney is open to the idea of making a family movie featuring gay characters. Last year the studio appointed Hollywood’s first openly gay studio chief, Rich Ross. Deja has worked on Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.


Elton John asks Lady Gaga to be godmother to his child

Although not publicly confirmed, Sir Elton has asked Lady Gaga to be godmother to son Zachary. Elton's partner David let let the tidbit slip during an interview. He was chatting with a reporter, and was asked, “Correct me if I'm wrong but Lady Gaga has been named Zachary's godmother.


Rainbow Family Day in Ottawa

The first annual event to attract all types of families was held at the Jack Purcell Community Center on Elgin Street, on February 21. Organizers attracted all types of families to the free, all-day event: traditional families, same-sex couples, singles living together, multi-generational groups. This is the first Rainbow family day since Canada declared same-sex marriage legal in 2005. The event featured a pancake breakfast, a family swim and family skate, performances, a Zumba class, a youth café and many more activities.

Maria Aragon, a 10 year old Filipino-Canadian singer from Winnipeg, has recently turned into an international superstar. Earlier this week she uploaded a video cover of Lady Gaga’s new hit single, “Born This Way.” Ms. Aragon’s vocal performance attracted the attention of Lady Gaga herself, who reportedly cried while watching it.

Annette Bening supported Golden Globes organizers who kept anti-gay protesters away from the ceremony. Members of the right-wing Westboro Baptist Church, attempted to picket the event.

Organizers of the Golden Globes (the Hollywood Foreign Press Association) made certain the demonstrators did not get near the awards show.


Groundbreaking film 'The Kids Are Alright' is honored with 4 Critic's Choice nominations

The Critics Choice Awards has released its list of honorees and The Kids Are Alright has received 4 nominations. Annette Bening has been honored with a Best Actress nomination for her role as a lesbian mom. Mark Ruffalo is nominated as Best Supporting Actor for his role as the bio-daddy. The film also landed a nomination for Best Acting Ensemble. To top it off, The Kids Are All Right is also nominated as Best Original Screenplay for the work of Lisa Cholodenko and Stuart Blumberg.
