Indianapolis seminar addresses family planning for LGBT

A seminar was held July 19 on Indianapolis’ Southside to assist with marriage and family planning for the LGBT community. According to the 2010 census, there were 16,000 LGBT families in the state – at the time. The number has certainly increased since then.

Middle Ground Inc., offered the free seminar which included presentations from family law attorneys, adoption consultants, accountants, end-of-life planning advisers, and religious leaders.

A spokeswoman for Middle Ground said the event was meant to help LGBT families who face added costs from having to seek additional legal, financial, and family planning resources to ensure rights are protected. That includes seeking legal help to ensure that these families are recipients and beneficiaries of wills, trusts, and estate planning.

In addition to help from legal and financial professionals, the event also included free food, music, and volleyball.
