Proudparenting.com is an online network that connects you with gay and lesbian parents, friends and families.

Information Collection and Use by ProudParenting
ProudParenting.com collects user submitted information such as name, email address, and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the ProudParenting.com service. ProudParenting.com also collects other profile data including but not limited to: personal interests, location, gender, age and family status in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each other.

ProudParenting.com logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes

We may also use a user’s email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding the service. Users may choose not to receive email of this type by changing their account settings. From time to time, ProudParenting.com or a partner, may sponsor a promotion, sweepstake or contest on ProudParenting.com. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. We may transfer personal information to certain ad partners that you have explicitly requested to receive information from. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

Use of Cookies
ProudParenting.com uses cookies to store visitors’ preferences and to record session information, for purposes including ensuring that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize newsletter, advertising, and Web page content based on browser type and user profile information. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. Blogs, Polls, Messages, Photos, and Forums
Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to to the site, that information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by those people to send you unsolicited communications.

Correcting/Updating or Removing Information
ProudParenting.com users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing features such as Edit Profile and Account Info.

Email Choice/Opt-out
Members who no longer wish to receive updates or notifications may choose not to by selecting ‘Do not send me notification emails’ in the user profile ‘Account Settings’. Users who do not wish to receive ProudParenting.com newsletters may choose not to by selecting ‘Do not send me ProudParenting newsletters’ in the user profile ‘Account Settings’. All notification emails and ProudParenting.com newsletters also include the above instructions for opting-out of those communications in the future.

Third Party Advertising
The non-personally identifiable data that we and/or our third-party advertising technology vendors collect are used to better target advertisements to individuals. The data are also used to predict responses to advertisements, and to help determine which ads perform best and which content is most appropriate for different individuals.

Your Opt-Out Choices
There are many ways to opt-out of receiving targeted advertising. Note that different devices use different identifiers and different technologies, so you must opt-out from each browser and each device that you would like to be opted out. If you opt-out of targeted advertising, we will no longer collect User Information described above from your device.

Should you wish to opt-out of the use of information collected from visiting our website, you can opt-out of targeted advertising by participating companies, at the Network Advertising Initiative NAI Consumer Opt Out Page. You can opt-out of Gay Ad Network by opting out of AppNexus. You can also opt-out of Rubicon, DataXu, TheTradeDeck, Quantcast, Google/DoubleClick, MediaMath and other networks and programmatic buying agencies. Please note that these opt-outs operate by placing a cookie on your device that is unique to the browser and device you use to opt-out. They may not function properly if you have configured your browser to reject certain cookies. If you change browsers or computers, or delete the cookies on your computer, you will need to opt-out again. You also can set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set and to block most cookies, including ours.

Mobile Opt-Out
Your device may give you the ability to opt-out of the use of information about the apps you use in order to serve you ads that are targeted to your interests (“Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” or “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android devices or “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS devices). Security Precautions
Our advertising technology partners make significant efforts to maintain the security of its network and the data we collect. They use various technologies, including, in certain instances, encryption, to ensure the high security standards. Any data that is stored is treated as confidential and is not generally available to the public. Our vendors use internal security policies with respect to the confidentiality of customer and other data, limiting access only to those employees who we reasonably believe need to know such information for the purpose of performing their jobs. Please keep in mind, however, that the Internet is not a 100% secure medium. Therefore, although reasonable efforts are used to protect information, the possibility of somebody defeating the security measures does exist.

EU GDPR Guidelines
European Union users understand and consent to the processing of personal information in the United States. Our advertising technology partners have taken the necessary steps to be in compliance with the relevant GDPR guidelines, specifically in terms of data security and user privacy. Cookies are set upon ad viewing. Cookie data is matched against unique identifiers referred to in the GDPR as “pseudonymized data”. The GDPR explicitly recognizes “pseudonymization” as good practice in protecting the interests of individuals, precisely because this practice makes it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to recognize who users are “in the real world”. ProudParenting.com member accounts are secured by member-created passwords ProudParenting.com takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Sharing and Disclosure of Information ProudParenting.com Collects
