Country singer Chely Wright starts a family with her new wife

January 24, 2013 By Editorial Staff

Chely Wright (r) is expecting twins with her wife, Lauren Blitzer (l). The couple used artificial insemination to get pregnant, after marrying in Connecticut last year. The country singer came out of the closet last year, following years of self-loathing. Her record sales plummeted by two-thirds after she came out.

According to Wright, she came out as a statement of honesty, and also in support of young gay people who felt trapped and alone hiding their identity.
