FILM REVIEW: “Donor Unknown”

June 3, 2011 By Editorial Staff

Female First reviews the independent film Donor Unknown, and says it’s “a movie that has treated the subject and those involved with the greatest of respect and this film has been made with the up most integrity.” Filmmaker Jerry Rothwell follows a group of young people who were conceived with the help of a sperm donor but now want to find the missing links in their family trees. The group includes a 20-year old woman with two mothers and a desire to connect with her father. The review concludes, “This is not a movie that focuses on the business side of artificial insemination but instead looks at the emotional journey that this group goes on in a bid to find a part of themselves.”
