QUESTION: I intend to carry the child, and I’ve had an active heterosexual history before meeting my girlfriend. Will a doctor question me about my sexual past? What determination does my sexual past have on chances of getting pregnant?

DR. DOYLE: It’s not actually that relevant unless you actually tried to conceive with a man and was unable to, didn’t conceive despite frequent unprotected intercourse, or was exposed to a STD which might have caused some internal scar tissue. Otherwise prior sexual experiences with men should not be something that would need to talked about much.
