Utah man posts supportive signs about homosexuality next to elementary school

December 9, 2010 By Editorial Staff

Leonard Ridley – from Springville, Utah – wants to introduce discussion among children about homosexuality at an early age, so he’s placed signs that make positive statements about gays aimed at kids playing in Art City Elementary School’s playground (pictured). Ridley says the signs are meant to clear up misconceptions about gay people. “This is the way to combat prejudice. To open the issue up for discussion,” said Ridley. The school has received numerous complaints from parents who are concerned about the placement of the signs.

“He could talk to the school board, the adults here instead of exposing children to the adult content,” said Lana Hiskey, Spokesperson, Nebo School District.
