Twins for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka

Earlier this year, NPH announced via his Twitter account that he and his partner – actor David Burtka – were expecting twins.

He wrote, “So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall.

We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled.

Hoping the press can respect our privacy.”

A surrogate carried the twins for the couple who have been together since 2004.

Father-to-be Neil Patrick Harris wins two Emmys

Neil Patrick Harris won two Emmy Awards at Saturday night’s creative arts ceremony. The AP reports that Harris won awards for best guest actor in a comedy series, for his appearance on Glee, and for his work as host of The Tony Awards show, which was named best special class program. The creative arts ceremony is a precursor to the August 29 primetime show.

In other Emmy news, Betty White won for best guest actress in a comedy series for her turn as “Saturday Night Live” host. Kathy Griffin (nominated for best reality program) lost to “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution”.

Neil Patrick Harris and partner expecting twins

Neil Patrick Harris announced via his Twitter account that he and his partner – actor David Burtka – are expecting twins. He writes, “So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy.” A surrogate will carry the twins for the couple.

A source tells E! News that the couple is expecting a boy and a girl this October.

Neil Patrick has been nominated for two Emmys this year – for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series (How I Met Your Mother) and Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series (Glee).

NPH was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 15, 1973. He grew up in Ruidoso, New Mexico, a small town 120 miles south of Albuquerque, where he first took up acting in the fourth grade. In 2009 the 37-year old hosted The 7th Annual TV Land Awards, The 63rd Annual Tony Awards, and The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2010, Time Magazine named Harris one of their 100 Most Influential People in the World.
