Celine Dion would love her gay son. She hopes he’s also a successful person, and she wants open communication as he gets older.

Celine Dion gives a brief interview to the London blog Me-Me-Me.tv. She’s asked what she might do if her six-year-old son, Rene Charles, turns out to be gay.

Celine responds: “I want him to be successful as a human being. I want my son to be able to talk to me. I’m with him, I wanted that son. If he’s a gay person, he’s not any less of my son, or any less happy for that.”

She’s also amused by her drag impersonators: “I do look at what they do. Actually sometimes they make me laugh backstage, they put my stuff on and they do my gestures, and they try to make me laugh. It works!”

Dion’s Las Vegas show – at Caesars Palace – has grossed more than $500 million since it began in March 2003, producers said. The Grammy award-winning singer ended her run in December 2007.

Another friend of our community, Bette Midler, will move into Celine’s dressing room at Caesars.

The 61-year-old Midler said she agreed to a two-year contract to perform 100 shows a year. That’s five nights a week for 20 weeks beginning February 20, 2007.

I’m so happy that a women that I look up too feels this way. As I am gay and my parents don’t talk anymore because of it. It’s hard not talking to your parent about things like this. I thought that parents are suppose to be by there children no matter what. What parents don’t understand it’s not a choice it’s the way you feel. Everyone has feelings and you can’t change them or switch them. It’s not like a light that you can turn on and then off. We are all humans and we all act upon our feelings no matter what they are.

    Thanks
