Buddy G – My Two Moms and Me will premiere with the release of a DVD just in time for a holiday delivery this year.
The star of the cartoon is “Buddy G,” a five year old boy who loves science and solves daily problems with the help of his sidekick “Socrates,” an armband computer with Internet capabilities. The series features state-of-the-art 3-D animation.
According to the executive producer of the show, Margaux Towne-Colley, “Buddy G is a historic development in children’s entertainment. While today’s children have ready access to literature depicting families headed by parents of the same gender, this is the first time that children with two moms or two dads will able to see the star of a show with a family just like their families.” She added, “We are very proud of this cartoon and what it means to our families.”
Buddy G has a 7 year-old next door neighbor named Owen. In the premiere episode, the boys learn the value of being truthful while picking up some facts from the Internet about the science of metal detectors.

The producers set out to normalize a same sex headed family- and they do a great job. Thanks to Buddy G our children may feel a little less alone.
As an early childhood expert, Buddy G, My Two Moms and Me meet all of my criteria for high quality children’s entertainment. I love that my son can watch this cartoon and see that he is not the only young boy who has two moms. Many of his friends who have watched Buddy G at our house love the cartoon and have often exclaimed, “Wow! Buddy G has two moms just like you!”
Watching Buddy G, My Two Moms and Me was a pleasure for me and for my son. He has watched it multiple times, laughing throughout, and keeps asking to watch more. Rumor has it, there are more episodes to come and we are anxiously awaiting them.
