Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores have removed all vinyl baby bibs from it’s supply as a precaution after two bibs made in China for one supplier showed lead levels that exceeded company standards.
The Center for Environmental Health (CEH) said the lead levels were between three and four times the legal limit.
“Lead in vinyl baby bibs poses a reckless, unnecessary hazard to children at the most vulnerable age,” Caroline Cox, research director at CEH, said earlier this week.
Toys “R” Us, Inc. said that customers who wish to return vinyl bibs purchased at any time from a Toys “R” Us or Babies “R” Us store may do so and receive a full refund.
